LONGEST NIGHT SERVICE

First Christian Church invites the community to their Longest Night Service
being held on Wednesday, December 16th at 7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary.
The Christmas season can be a painful time for those who face the holidays without loved ones,
causing them to feel sorrow and grief with new force. People are confronted everywhere in this season
with bright lights and joyful sounds, which highlight the contrasts of life for those who have lost loved ones, relationships, health, employment, and more. Sometimes, there seems to be no safe place
that persons can go to express their sadness at this time of the year, and for this reason,
First Christian Church is offering this "Longest Night Service" of prayer, scripture, music, and
candle lighting that helps to acknowledge God's constant presence and care for those who mourn
and face difficult times. This service will allow all who attend to come together to find hope and
encouragement with each other, and to find again the Light in the darkness.
There will be a simple reception in the Parlor following the service
for those who wish to have a quiet time of fellowship together.
